disparities to advocate for solutions and action. The Coalition was established in 2004 to advance the elimination of ethnic and
racial disparities and grew out of the national REACH 2010 initiative funded through the
Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. US Alliance for Health Reform was formed in 1991 to present a balance of expert views on health reform to journalists, elected officials and their staffs, and other shapers of public opinion. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
works at the federal and state levels on fiscal policy and public
programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals.
The Center conducts research and analysis to help ensure that
policymakers consider the needs of low-income families and individuals
in budget and tax policy debates. Children Now is a nonpartisan research and advocacy organization working to raise children's well-being to the top of the national policy agenda. The organization focuses on ensuring quality health care, a solid education and a positive media environment for all children. Children's Defense Fund (CDF) is a non-profit child advocacy organization that has worked for 35 years to ensure a level playing field for all children. CDF champions policies that lift children out of poverty; protects them from abuse and neglect; and ensures their access to healthcare, quality education, and a moral and spiritual foundation. The Children's Partnership is a national, nonprofit, nonpartisan child advocacy organization, which works to ensure that all children in the United States have access to the opportunities they need to lead healthy, productive lives. The Commonwealth Fund supports independent research on healthcare issues and promotes a healthcare system that achieves better access, improved quality, and greater efficiency for the most vulnerable, including low-income people, the uninsured, minority Americans, young children, and elderly adults. Community Catalyst is a national non-profit advocacy organization working to build consumer and community leadership to transform the American health system. Its first priority is quality affordable health care for all. Consumers Union is the publisher of Consumer Reports magazine. Kaiser Family Foundation is a non-profit, private foundation focusing on the major healthcare issues facing the US. Kaiser serves as a non-partisan source of facts, information, and analysis for policymakers, the media, the healthcare community, and the public. National Health Law Program (NHelP) is a national public interest law firm that seeks to improve health care for America's working and unemployed poor, minorities, the elderly and people with disabilities.
