Community Health Councils (CHC) and SEE-LA (Sustainable Economic Enterprise) are partnering to launch the BEST START FARM GRAB AND GO program, an effort to distribute free food to help the communities in South Los Angeles and Compton who are facing food insecurities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SEE-LA will drop off 1,000 farm boxes per week for eight weeks across Best Start Region 2 communities which include Broadway/Manchester, Compton/East Compton, Watts/Willowbrook and West Athens. Each box provides a week’s worth of fresh, locally grown produce to a family of four.
Individuals interested in receiving a farm box can acquire one at pickup sites within their Best Start community.
Funded By First 5 LA, A leading Public Grantmaking and Child Advocacy Organization.
