Solidarity Economics – How We Grow Together

According to Dr Chris Benner, director of the Institute for Social Transformation, and a professor of Sociology and Environmental Studies, at the University of California Santa Cruz, he says Solidarity Economics has two meanings – it’s about both how we organize our economy and how we make that change happen. Typically, economies are digested at the nation-level, what happens when we attempt to understand how we might have the power to organize the economy at the local level for South LA. How do we collectively make that change happen and build equitable systems?
